Our Story
Serafina Coffee Roasters traces its roots to the early 1990's, when founder Damian Serafine brought his passion for coffee from New York to the sun-soaked streets of Phoenix, AZ. Trained as a roaster & barista, Damian launched his first coffee cart in 1994 on Central Ave & Monroe street-one of the earliest specialty coffee ventures in the Valley, predating even Starbucks presence.
By 1995, Serafina had partnered with Aramark to open a Coffee & Juice Bar inside the Phoenix Convention Center & Symphony Hall. The following years saw expansion into cultural landmarks like the Herberger Theater, Scottsdale Center for the Arts, and the historic San Carlos Hotel-sparking a quiet revolution in Phoenix'scoffee scene.
In 2011, Damian opened One Coffee Co at One N. Central Ave, a full service coffee bar with on-site roasting. A brief return to New York in 2013 led to the opening of another roastery near the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, But, the desert called him back, and in 2016 the Serafine family returned to Phoenix for good. In 2018 opened Serafina's flagship roastery and cafe in the historic Luhrs Tower downtown.
In September 2022, Serafina Coffee Roasters proudly opened it's newest location in the Moon Valley neighborhood, Bringing it's signature small batch roasts, direct sourced beans, and community driven ethos to North Phoenix. With a cozy, light filled space and the aroma of fresh coffee in the air, Moon Valley quickly became a beloved gatherinmg spot for locals and newcomers alike.
From humble beginnings to multiple locations and back, Serafina continues to brew with purpose
serving coffee that connects, comforts, and inspires
